The CREC ‘purple postcard’ campaign, to try and seek from Her Majesty the Queen the delaying of the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty until the British people had had a referendum on the issue, is no longer being actively promoted by CREC.

However, many people are still asking us for our purple postcards as they too wish to register their personal protest to Her Majesty.

To order more postcards, please telephone Tony Bennett 01279 635789 or e-mail ajsbennett@btinternet.com. Prices for our postcards vary from 4p. per card to 20p. depending on the quantity ordered.

At a Committee meeting held on Saturday, CREC resolved to launch a new campaign which will involve a mass petition calling for a straightforward referendum of the British people on the simple issue of whether we should stay in, or leave, the European Union. In addition, we shall in due course be mounting a second campaign, the Campaign to Reject European Citizenship, which will explain the benefits of remaining a British citizen and warn about the dangers of being forced to fulfil the duties of becoming a citizen of the European Union.

A short public thank you to Dave Cox and to Southampton and Bournemouth U.K.I.P. branches for continuing with their order for 5,000 CREC purple postcards, despite the government ratifying the Lisbon Treaty into law. Dave tells us that he and his committee still wish to give residents in the area a chance to send their personal, signed protest to the Queen, to add to the number who have already done so .
